GRADES 9 and 10
(9th &10th Grade Confirmation Preparation Classes)

Grades 9 and 10 class times are:
Sundays, 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM in Columbia Hall.
Students are expected to attend all classes


Students in grade 9 (this applies to both public and parochial schools) are reminded that they need to register for our TWO YEAR Confirmation Preparation Program.


Classes begin SEPTEMBER 18, 2011
Last class will be APRIL 29, 2012
Depending on the number of snow days which
could effect the date.


CLASSES ARE SCHEDULED AS FOLLOWS:

September: 18
October: 2 & 16
November: 6 & 20
December: 4 & 18
January: 8 & 22
February: 5 & 26
March: 4 & 18
March: 4th (Special Teen Mass- 12:30)
April: 1 & 29

Students that are absent are required to bring a note to the next class.
All students who miss more than TWO classes will be required to do
make-up work of the classes missed as prescribed
by the teacher and education commission.

CONFIRMATION GRADE 10
Confirmation for 2010/2011 Students: Friday, Oct. 14 at 7pm
Next years candidates (2011/2012) must attend.

RETREAT: TO BE ANNOUNCED

Chrism Mass: Monday, April 2, 2012 Students must be at
St. Patrick's by 5:30pm (return is 9:00 - 9:30pm)
It is held at St. Michael's Cathedral in Springfield and is a requirement.

A meeting with Father Brooks for the parents of grade  9 & 10 will be Sunday,
September 11, 2011 at
6:00 pm for grade 9 and 7:00 pm for grade 10
at Columbia Hall.

Before a student can receive the Sacrament of Confirmation
the following requirements should be met
.

All Students must attend Mass every week.
This is the responsibility of the Parents and/or Guardians.

1. Attend ALL SPECIAL CONFIRMATION SESSIONS AND REHEARSALS.
2. Attend any retreats or special activities that are planned.
3. Take an active part in parish functions as assigned by the teacher.

4. Choose a name (Biblical or Saint). Read about his/her life and pick someone
you would like to emulate.
5. Choose a sponsor. Parents are not to be selected and whoever is chosen
must be a practicing Catholic, at least 16 years old and confirmed.
6. Seriously suggests completion of Religious Education classes through Grade 9.
7. If your child was not baptized or has not made First Holy Communion at
St. Patrick's, Monson, you must bring a copy of his/her Baptismal Certificate at
the time of registration or to the first class.
8. Must Attend Mass weekly.
