GRADES 9 and 10
(9th &10th Grade Confirmation Preparation Classes)

Grades 9 and 10 class times are:
Sundays, 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM in Columbia Hall.
2 evening classes, Oct. 28 and Dec. 2nd (5:30 pm to 6:45 pm)
Students are expected to attend all classes

Students in grade 9 this fall (this applies to both public and parochial schools) are reminded that they need to register for our two year Confirmation Preparation Program.

Last class will be April 27, 2008
Depending on the number of snow days which
could effect the date.

Class Schedule for 2007 - 2008 as follows:
September: 16 & 30
October:
21 & *28(eve.)
November: 4 & 18
December: *2(eve.) & 9
January: 6 & 20
February: 3 & 24(9th Gr.)
March: 9 & 30
April: 13 & 27

Students that are absent are required to bring a note to the next class.
All students who miss more than an acceptable number of classes
will be required to do make-up work for the classes missed as prescribed
by the teacher and education commission.

CONFIRMATION GRADE 10
Confirmation for 2006/2007 Students: Friday, Oct. 12 at 7pm.
Next years candidates must attend.

RETREAT: Sunday, Feb. 24, 2008 from 2-8pm at the
Calvary Retreat Center in Shrewsbury, MA

Transportation and dinner will be provided.
Bus leaves St. Patrick's Columbia Hall at 12:00pm (noon) (approx. return is 9:30pm)
Bus leaves St. Christophers Church at 12:30pm (approx. return is 9pm)

Chrism Mass: Monday, March 17, 2008 Students must be at
St. Patrick's by 5:30pm (return is 9:00 - 9:30)
It is held at St. Michael's Cathedral in Springfield and is requird for both parishes.

A meeting with Father Brooks for the parents of grade  9 will be Sunday, September 9, 2007 at 6:00 P.M. at Columbia Hall.

A meeting with Father Brooks for the parents of grade 10 will be Sunday, September 9, 2007 at 7:00 P.M. at Columbia Hall.

Before a student can receive the Sacrament of Confirmation
the following requirements should be met
.

All Students must attend Mass every week.
This is the responsibility of the Parents and/or Guardians.

1. Attend ALL SPECIAL CONFIRMATION SESSIONS AND REHEARSALS.
2. Attend any retreats or special activities that are planned.
3. Take an active part in parish functions.

4. Choose a name (Biblical or Saint). Read about his/her life and pick someone
you would like to emulate.
5. Choose a sponsor. Parents are not to be selected and whoever is chosen
must be a practicing Catholic, at least 16 years old and confirmed.
6. Seriously suggests completion of Religious Education classes through Grade 9.
7. If your child was not baptized or has not made First Holy Communion at
St. Patrick's, Monson, you must bring a copy of his/her Baptismal Certificate at
the time of registration or to the first class.
8. Must Attend Mass weekly.
