Our
Pastor, Fr. Jeddie as he prefers to be called, was appointed
as Pastor here at St. Patrick's in May of 1994. His previous
assignments as Associate Pastor were Our Lady of Hope, Springfield
(1977-82) and St. Mary's, Longmeadow (1982-94).
He
graduated from Adams Memorial High School in Adams, MA in 1968
and from Niagara University, Niagara, NY in 1973. He tells
so many stories of his seminary days, the one thing we can
gather is his deep love for his school, his professors and
his education, especially his deep devotion to Jesus in the
Blessed Sacrament and our Mother, Mary. Graduating from Mount
St. Mary's Seminary in Emmitsburg, MD with concentration in
Church History, he was ordained a priest for the Diocese of
Springfield, MA by then Coadjutor Bishop Joseph F. Maguire
(now Bishop Emeritus) in his home parish of St. Thomas Aquinas,
Adams, MA on June 25, 1977.
He
is a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Regional
Chaplain and Deputy Regional Director in the Order of Alhambra
(assisting the mentally retarded) and member of and Past President
of the Monson Rotary Club.
An
avid international traveler in the past, Fr. Jeddie has especially
enjoyed his nine trips to Italy, the tour he led to the Holy
Land and trips to Mexico. He enjoys murder & suspense mysteries,
Church & Bible history and archeology, opera arias, Irish classical & ancient
music...and good dining, especially French and Italian!
Of
French Canadian, Irish, English and "Yankee" descent, Father's
Mom and Dad, Lenore (Harrinton) and Jeddie, Sr., still live
in Savoy and his sister, Cathrine "Cathie" Sanginetti, and
her family live in Pittsfield.
